Over the weekend we got our 100th artist signed up!

We now have over 100 artists representing the visual arts, performing arts, and literary arts throughout the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area. All this in just over one month since announcing the directory. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible.

As we continue to grow the directory membership, we’ll be adding features to the site to make it an even better resource for the Omaha metro’s artist community. If you have ideas and suggestions for what could make the Omaha Artist Directory an even better resource, please let us know.

Thanks again for all the encouragement and support. Tell everyone about the directory – it’s a great way to find out more about all the talented artists we have in our community and meet new people!

We’ve launched!

I know it’s not much right now, but at least we’ve got something started. A month ago I set a deadline to launch something simple with the goal of getting a couple dozen people signed up and implement a simple listing of area artists.

Well, with 70 artists signed up and tons of offers to help and great input and feedback so far, we’re already much further ahead than I thought we would be.

Here’s what’s next on the agenda:

• Finish and launch user profile management
• Add support for a user profile image
• Add artist practice areas
• Refine search results pages
• Tons of other stuff!

If you’ve got ideas and suggestions, please send them in!

In the meantime, please tell any artists you know about the directory. It’s free. Hopefully we can grow this into a good resource for the community.
